3D Printed Heart Saves Baby

Pre-planning surgeries using 3D-printed organs proves its efficacy in China, as surgeons use the technology to successfully save the life of a nine-month old. Nicklaus Children’s Hospital has a printer that uses images from patients’ MRI or CT scan images as a template and lays down layers of rubber or plastic.



LG’s roll-up flexible screen

LG Display has been working on its fully flexible screen that can be rolled up and scrunched around, and the display is full HD. LG says they’re aiming for screens that are 55in and beyond that can produce screen quality of 4K. However, right now, the resolution is 1,200 by 810 pixels. See more:

Quantum physicists have long thought it possible to send a perfectly secure message using a key that is shorter than the message itself. The University of Rochester’s new quantum enigma machine is taking data encryption to a whole new level. “While our device is not 100 percent secure, due to photon loss,” said Lum, “it does show that data locking in message encryption is far more than a theory.”
